Fall 2012 Bridal Fashion Trends: The Royal Wedding

New York Bridal Week just ended and everyone is buzzing about  the Fall 2012 collections.  I wanted to give my readers a look at some of these gorgeous gowns and also talk about some of the hottest trends in bridal fashion.  I'll be breaking it down trend by trend so keep checking back!

The Royal Wedding. It was clear that the royal wedding served as inspiration for almost every collection.  Whether it was lace sleeves inspired by Kate's dress or fitted sheaths and cowl-necks inspired by Pippa's- the Middleton sisters made their mark on bridal fashion.

Pops of Pink on Purpose

As most of you probably know, October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  This month is extra special to me because my mother is a breast cancer survivor. It should be important to you because 1 in 8 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer during their lifetime.  About 40% of those cases are preventable so be sure to schedule your mammogram!  To help raise money for breast cancer research you can throw a Pink on Purpose party at your workplace or in your community.  Have everyone wear pink and collect donations.  Read more about hosting a Pink on Purpose party here.  This month- wear pink proudly!

Camomile Hixon: The Goddess of Glitter

I was watching one of my new favorite shows, Home by Novogratz on HGTV, and fell in love with one of the artists they featured.  As soon as I saw Camomile Hixon's work I was an instant fan.  She uses glitter & paint as her meduim on canvas to create super-sized words, images & symbols.  Her art is playful, modern, and beautiful!  Take a look...

This is one of the pieces the Novogratz used on the show.  It really shows you the scale at which her art is created- her pieces are HUGE!

Lululemon Comes to Knoxville!

I first learned about this Vancouver based company during my freshman year of college from one of my pledge sisters who had just moved from Canada.  Carli was always sporting her Lululemon gear and it wasn't long before we all had to have some ourselves.  Lululemon has beautiful yoga & running wear that looks great and really lasts! It is an amazing company (read their manifesto here), and I am so excited that they have opened a showroom in Knoxville!
